About

Creating lasting solutions that extend the service life of structures is at the heart of our business.

WDP is performing building enclosure engineering and structural engineering services for the Wren project. Established in 1995, the firm was founded on the belief that clients’ specialty engineering and architectural needs are best served by people dedicated to solving complex problems. From the start, we have purposely nurtured specialized professional expertise and adopted innovative methods to help clients identify, solve, and prevent issues affecting the service life of modern and historic buildings.

WDP industry experts are actively involved in the development of construction standards through industry groups such as ASTM, ACI, ICRI, and TMS. We are a trusted service provider for numerous colleges throughout the state, including the College of William & Mary, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, George Mason University, and Virginia Community College System, among others. Our service offerings include building enclosure consulting, building science, forensic structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and inspection services, and expert witness testimony.

Since 2005, we have served Willliam & Mary on consecutive term contracts for architectural and engineering services. Projects for the University have spanned from historic structures such as the Sir Christopher Wren Building, Chancellors (formerly Tyler) Hall, and Barrett Hall to more recent buildings such as One Tribe Place and Swem Library. WDP has won numerous awards, including the 2022 SEA-MW Design Award for the One Tribe Place project, and the 2020 NCSEA Project Award for the West Virginia State Capitol Building.
